Jet's Pizza Webster Groves Delivered - December 2013

My son just had a blood test for his cholesterol levels and passed his Missouri driving test on the same day. In celebration of both events he had decided we needed to have Jet's Pizza delivered to our door. We had only had it once before when our old neighbors picked it up from the Creve Coeur location, but this time we were just ordering two large square pizzas for ourselves delivered to our home from their Webster Groves location. I ordered the pizzas online and called them up just to make sure they had received the order properly. We asked for the pizza to be delivered at 5:00 pm and they were pretty prompt, arriving before 5:10 pm. I searched for their 234 W. Lockwood Ave address and they appear to be located between the First Watch and the Massage Envy on Lockwood, so it is actually a pretty straight 3 mile drive from them to our house. They were nice and punctual (much better than Papa John's usually is!)

Since it was the holiday season, we were generous with the tip and the total cost for two pizzas with the $3 delivery charge, tax and tip ended up being $40 or $20 each. That may seem like a lot, but these are some pretty substantially large pizzas! Carrying the two pizzas to the kitchen they felt much heavier than two large pizzas from Papa John's or Domino's. My wife, son and myself ended up eating only about the equivalent of one of the large pizzas, so we had almost one full pizza left over for extra meals. We ate more of the pizza the next day for lunch, but still had a couple slices left afterwards. So that $40 worth of pizza lasted for more than two meals for a family of three (my daughter is out of the country.)

And once again the pizza was incredible, so greasy and tasty, with a crust that almost melted in your mouth and a tangy sauce that rose above the grease soaked crust flavor. Did I mention it was greasy? Yup, it contains major artery clogging quantities of grease. If you ate this pizza every day you are guaranteed to die of a heart attack within a year, but if you have it just every month or so it is an occasional decadent treat.
