Jet's Pizza Creve Coeur - Take Out November 2013

Our former neighbor was originally from Michigan, and when she heard that a Jet's Pizza was opening on Olive just west of Spoede in Creve Coeur mere minutes away from our old neighborhood she was pretty excited. She normally does not like pizza very much (especially not St. Louis style pizza), but she said she did like some genuine, thick Michigan style pizza. So we had to go visit them and try out this newly arrived pizza for ourselves.

We showed up at our neighbor's house at the allotted time and her husband arrived a few minutes later with the pizza. They ordered two of the rectangular, thick pizzas, one of the "boats", and an order of the cheese bread. Jet's appears to use a thick, chewy dough that has plenty of grease along with a tangy, flavorful sauce. The "boats" were ordered with pepperoni and green olives and they were equally greasy and messy -- but that means we loved them! It was a heart attack on a plate, but it sure tasted good. The thick crust was different than a Chicago style deep dish, chewier and with more toasted on grease. The best term for it would be "decadent".

Jet's also has a location in Webster Groves, and on their site it says you can order online and they will deliver it to our house. That sure sounds tempting!
