The last time our university department ordered in for delivery for lunch it was from Wei Hong on Olive and that took forever, so we thought we would order from somewhere closer on "Administrative Professional's Day" so we chose Cicero's right on the Delmar Loop. They had to be faster than Wei Hong, right? The order was placed shortly after 11 am, and we did not see our food until about 1:10 in the afternoon when we were all about ready to eat just about anything. I had ordered the Buffalo Bacon Chicken Ranch wrap, which was actually still pretty good, but I ordered it with fries which were now rather soggy and unappetizing. Others ordered pizza, other sandwiches and salads and we were all so hungry we all ate everything up pretty quickly. Luckily we also had some cake to go with it, and everything is better with cake!
Nonetheless, it seems that Washington University deliveries must be on the list for all local restaurants to deliver as slowly as possible. I guess they know we will keep on ordering anyway and we will eat anything delivered. And the sad truth is that they are probably right!
