St. Patrick's Day Eve Corned Beef and Lamb Stew at Samuel UCC in Clayton

It is finally March, and even though this weekend did not feel very much like Spring, it is indeed almost St. Patrick's Day, and that means it is nearly time for Corned Beef and Cabbage and Irish Lamb Stew at the annual St. Patrick's Day lunch and dinner, this time on St. Patrick's Day Eve (Saturday, March 16) at Samuel United Church of Christ in Clayton (just barely south of University City where Old Bonhomme turns into Forsyth). The dinner price is again $15 for adults and $6 for children age 5 to 12, with lunch being $10 for adults and $6 for children. Once again all the proceeds are being donated to the local Habitat for Humanity chapter which is building a home for another needy family.

I will be there helping out as will countless other members and friends of Samuel UCC to serve delicious food to whoever shows up at our church. The meat and sides will again be provided and expertly prepared by the Kern Meat Company who have the best corned beef and lamb stew I have ever tasted. We ran out of lamb stew last year so make sure to come early if you want some for lunch.

There will be plenty of delicious homemade desserts in the back to finish off your meal, all lovingly donated and prepared by Samuel members and friends. We will have our downstairs fellowship hall full of tables where you can sit and dine, or we can pack it up for you to take home to eat. It is all for a good cause, so show up if you can and have a delicious meal and help a deserving family build a home.
