Sushi Station, Webster Groves - Visited February 2016

We had first visited Sushi Station only back in November, but since it was pretty tasty last time none of us minded going there again. It was my eldest's pick and since they love good, interesting sushi I was definitely not going to complain. After driving around town to pick everybody up, we again parked in the lot of the Faith Academy Montessori School, just down the street on Gore.

The restaurant was fairly empty and we sat at the same table we did in November in the same spots. My wife and son both ordered the salmon teriyaki bowls, and my mother-in-law ordered both the shrimp and the vegetable tempura appetizers as her meal. The other three of us ordered six different sushi rolls from their very extensive list of basic and specialty rolls : Spicy fried calamari, Spicy asparagus cream cheese, California roll, Eel avocado roll, Spicy girl roll, and the Sweet potato roll.

The wait was not too long until they brought the tempura out as appetizers which was not as we had expected, but we let my mother-in-law eat it as we awaited the rest of the food. Several minutes later the salmon teriyaki bowls and the sushi came out, with the rolls pictured above in a very lovely display. They provided a large serving of pickled ginger and enough wasabi for the two of us who used it. The Spicy girl was probably my favorite, but all of the sushi was very fresh and flavorful. I also was able to sample the salmon teriyaki which again was very delicious as well, with the salmon perfectly grilled and with the sauce flavorful without being over powering. They served a lot of rice and vegetables in the bowl so us sushi eaters could enjoy some of it too.

My wife reported back that the restroom was okay but that the faucet in the sink was loose. The service was decent enough, despite the tempura arriving too early, since there was only one guy doing all the waiter duty. He could have been more attentive, but he did come when we could flag him down for utensils or drink refills. Once again the food is a bit on the pricey side, but both the sushi and the salmon teriyaki are very well prepared and delicious, so it is a worthy expensive treat to enjoy now and then. I am guessing we will be back there again, and I will not mind!
