It is always a pleasure to visit the tiny La Pizza restaurant on Delmar in University City where you worry much more about whether there is a table available where your group can sit, than you do about the quality of the pizza. They make one of the most consistently good New York style pizzas in St. Louis, and our last visit was not an exception. We noticed the usual guy who is there making the pizzas was not there that day. This guy:
Instead a different fellow who we also recognized was there making the pizza. We did notice a slight difference as we thought the crust was not quite as delicate and crisp as when the usual guy makes it. Nonetheless it was still delicious and the large pizza you receive there is actually not large, but huge. We also like to order a salad there and I always get the Thousand Island dressing which comes out of a little pouch, but it is a very good brand. The salad just has some lettuce, tomatoes and some mozzarella cheese but it definitely hits the spot. Along with their typically great pizza it makes a good lunch with plenty of leftovers. And I love leftovers!
