P'Sghetti's Pasta & Sandwiches - Glendale visited October 2013

Our Youth Director at our church mentioned how he went out of his was to visit the P'Sghetti's Pasta & Sandwiches in South County because he really liked the soft, sweet bread they used on their sandwiches. We had driven by the location on Manchester in Glendale a bunch of times but never visited, but after his recommendation we had to give it a try! We arrived at about 11:30am on Saturday and we were pretty early since the place was empty. They had a nice, large parking lot in back and when we entered the staff their was very polite and friendly as we all read their menu are tried to decide what to order. I decided to have a combo with the Chicken Parmesan sandwich and toasted ravioli on the side. My son also ordered a combo with a Chicken Club and toasted ravioli. Both my wife and my daughter ordered the meatball sandwich, and my mother-in-law ordered  Kid's Cheese Melt and Chips. The dining area was larger than I expected and the tables were spaced apart nicely and the chairs were even padded. They had two HDTV sets, but they were both off as it was pretty early.

As we waited more people came in and we noticed it was mostly families with small children, as the place seemed very family oriented, and seemed more like a mom and pop "family" restaurant as opposed to a chain (I never realized there were only two locations.) We did not have to wait very long for our food to arrive, and all the portions were quite generous. The meatball sandwiches were large and the toasted ravioli actually came with more sauce than you actually needed (a rarity in my book!) The bread for the sandwiches was soft and sweet as expected and went very well with their sauce which seemed sweet too. The food was not fancy, it is was simple and basic and very good! The bread seemed very fresh and the chicken in my sandwich was tender and went well with their sauce. Since my daughter could not finish her sandwich, she only wanted the bread from half of it so I got to eat some of her meatballs which were very meaty and tasty (especially when I dipped them in the extra ravioli sauce!)

The service there was much more than you would expect at an inexpensive Italian family restaurant. My wife noticed the Diet Dr. Pepper dispenser was out of syrup, and after she told them they had it refilled in just a few minutes. You rarely see that happen so quickly in any chain restaurant! It was like the staff there actually cared! The lady in charge stopped by frequently to ask how everything was, and she even took away our plates after we were done. They also passed my wife's restroom criteria, which means they actually keep it clean and well maintained (another rarity in less expensive restaurants.)

Needless to say we were all pretty impressed with the place and will likely be going back. P'Sghetti's is nothing fancy, it is just a good place to have a pleasant, well made meal where the people working there actually care about their customers and their restaurant.
