Amighetti's - Rock Hill - Carry Out Feb 2013

On Sunday we were going to the Polar Plunge at Hidden Valley with our church youth group, and we were supposed to bring a packed lunch to church, so we picked up some Amighetti's special sandwiches from their recently moved shop in Rock Hill. The new place is actually smaller and harder to get in and out from Manchester (the old place was on the corner of Manchester and McKnight by St. Louis Frozen Custard and Sherwin-Williams). That previous location had a roomy lot and easy access off of either main artery.

I sure hope they are saving a lot on the rent since the location is not so great! They took over the closed Imo's at 9631 Manchester Rd which has its own tiny little lot.

When we showed up on Saturday around 1:00 pm, the lot was already pretty full and there were quite a few folks inside eating sandwiches. They only have a few menu choices, but most people were ordering the Amighetti's Specials, either a half for one person or a whole to split for two. We were ordering two whole sandwiches for the 4 of us, so we received two large sandwiches for about $18 with tax. They cost a bit more than a "5 dollar footlong" from Subway, but they are definitely much more substantial of a sandwich and worth the premium every now and then. Once we were finally able to exit onto Manchester, we made our way home and packed them up for lunch for the next day. At church, we ate them with our own chips and a drink, and the other folks at our table were quite envious of our massive Amighetti's sandwiches.

Hey, the new Rock Hill location may not be as convenient as their place on the corner, but it sure beats trying to beat the traffic and parking into "the Hill". And the sandwiches are worth it so I will not complain too much. I love Amighetti's sandwiches!
