The St. Louis Scamwich Artist is an Idiot, but he has good Taste!

I love sandwiches and and I am known to be pretty frugal, but one thing I would never be is a "Scamwich Artist", which makes the recent news story about a food thieving accountant quite entertaining. This guy has been caught trying to scam food from local restaurants by saying they botched ordered that were never really placed. Plus the restaurants he seems to like to target are right here in the mid-county area so he is eating for free where my family like to out to eat! Even though he appears to be a pretty bad criminal, he actually seems to have pretty good taste in food, preying on the mom and pop local eateries in the area which often seem to have some interesting and unique menu items. Let us see some of the fine establishments he has visited by perusing the Riverfront Times article (including comments and tweets):

Bissingers - CWE
Cheese-ology - U City
Fitz's - U City
Fozzie's Sandwich Emporium - Richmond Heights
Frida's Deli - U City
Roxane - Clayton
Sugarfire Smokehouse - Olivette

We have definitely all eaten and enjoy Bissingers chocolates, but that is definitely not a place to eat a meal (or you might get a stomach ache!)  We also do enjoy going to both Cheese-ology and Fitz's on the Loop, although both tend to be crowded and Fitz's food is nothing overly exciting (although we love the root beer). We also visited Sugarfire back when it was Dickey's and were not overly impressed, but as a new restaurant under new management it sounds like it might be much better.  I have also tried to convince my family to go to Fozzie's but the place looks pretty small from Big Bend so I am always voted down. Frida's is all vegetarian which I believe is a great idea for those who like that kind of food, but I really like meat so I will pass. And Roxane is not open for lunch on Saturday, so that takes that one off of our list. So of the Scamwich Artists selections, we either have to go to a repeat visit of Fitz's or Cheese-ology, or try out the new cuisine at Sugarfire. Maybe he should write his own blog of restaurants to visit and spend his time doing that instead of trying to rip them off!
